Rooted in Nature programs are customized to fit destination, season and participants,
including the natural world itself. Honoring the environment is paramount.
As we interact with nature through art, we see ourselves more clearly as
part of the whole. What better reason is there to travel?
The possibilities for Rooted in Nature are as unlimited as our response to
nature itself.
We are constrained only by our commitment to provide the finest
in content and the highest in quality. If we can't do it well we won't do it.
Resort or Hotel Programs
All artfully designed to foster genuine connection
with the natural setting and its inhabitants. To feel at home in nature,
and to want to return again soon.
A conference room or appropriate space within
the property becomes the studio. A place not only to make art but to to
equip and prepare for activities in the field. A place to reflect and solidify
new awareness at the end of the day.
Art is combined with all the other
activities and opportunities each unique destination offers. It enhances
the entire experience and reinforces the essential mission shared by all
environmentally responsible inns, lodges and resorts: To heighten awareness
of our place in nature.
As with the Studio at Sea program, artistic visualization is a path to deeper
appreciation whether or not one chooses to engage in art making or simply
open their eyes and see in a different manner.
Art is for all ages. There's no better way to bond than to make something together,
especially in a natural setting. Nobody is too young or too old to get up close
and personal with nature (a tide pool? a monkey? a glacier?) and then paint a
picture of it. Memory-making at it's finest.
Rooted In Nature programs can be open to all guests or a select group. We can
grab attention and generate interest or we can operate discreetly for a family
or small group. The degree of structure and scheduling is flexible, as is the
duration of the program.
Tour Enrichment.
Biking, Walking, Motorcoach. Camel. No matter how you cover the ground, self-expression
and seeing like an artist transform you from an observer to a participant.
A layer of artistic experience can be built in to any itinerary, a tool for transforming
fleeting impressions into lasting memories. We keep sight of the big picture
by putting the pieces together artfully.
Art is a cure for the drive-by syndrome. When you see the connection between
all the different people and places that go by in a blur, it all comes into focus.
On a typical tour there is no time to set up an easel and spend a day painting
sunflowers . We find expressive opportunity on the fly. Spontaneity, resourcefulness
and access to local materials are the keys.
